Are you looking for a way to escape the snow or sweltering summer heat? Are you being relocated to a military base across the country? Whether you are going North to South or looking for Coast to Coast car transport we can find the perfect open or enclosed carrier for your time frame.
Interestingly enough nearly 90% of the Coast to Coast car transport in the U.S. is goes from the East Coast to the West Coast. Only about 10 % of the vehicles move in the opposite direction. Because of supply and demand, it is a bit less expensive to ship from West to East. Generally the carriers are only looking to cover their fuel and labor costs on the trip back East. Most of their profit is made on the west coast haul.
Another interesting fact that has effected the ENTIRE industry is that the Government recently enacted a law stating requiring transporters to use an electronic king device (ETD) to track drivers work vs. rest hours. In the past manual honor system journals or logs were used and many drivers took liberties with their hours so they could cover more ground. Now they are no longer able to drive extra hours under the radar without being fined so rates have increased to cover the extra cost of additional drive days. Plus the electronic tracking devices themselves cost hundreds of dollars and incur monthly charges to monitor them. While carriers try to keep their cost down as much as possible to be competitive they still have to be profitable to maintain their equipment etc. so a portion of the new expense is divided among the vehicles on the carrier.
